Thorcom has provided a Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service with a new vehicle location system
Thorcom Systems Limited in conjunction with Fortek Computers Ltd. has provided a Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service with a new vehicle location system. The second Fire service to go live with the solution in 2005, this allows the service to enjoy the benefits of new geographical and spatial facilities, as well as enhanced management information tools..

The new real-time service, provided over a GPRS bearer means that the command and control system is able to mobilise the most appropriate appliances based on incident and appliance location, and estimate the time for resources to arrive at the incident scene.
