The Debian Linux distribution is the widest supported distribution for non-Intel CPUs such as the ARM CPU used in VR1000. At the time of writing VR1000 is shipped with Debian GNS Linux version 3.1 (aka "Sarge"). Thorcom will support future Debian releases as and when they become available. Debian packages The VR1000 is shipped with the base set of packages installed on the CompactFlash card by the Debootstrap process plus the following packages:
These additional packages are installed to allow standard applications used by customers to operate. Additional packages can be installed by the customer using Debian's 'apt' package management system and either CDROM or a network connection.
